Disclaimer for non-transmitting card-swipe equipment.

Current  Visa and Master-card rules state that if the credit card is read electronically, only the last four digits of the credit card number are allowed to be printed on the receipt and the expiration date must be masked. Manual imprints are allowed where there is no electronic capture. Since mechanical devices (so-called “knuckle busters”) are accepted at this time, we can assume the use of NON-TRANSMITTING equipment is deemed acceptable as well.

If client chooses to purchase a meter that prints the whole credit card number, we must require
a signed acknowledgement that this equipment may one day be interpreted as counter to credit card rules and that Centrodyne Corporation and its related entities in Canada and the USA, or Fred Stock Electronics, and their website www.TaxiCabElectronics.com and all related websites and URLs,  will not be held responsible for any fraud or litigation regarding this issue. The taximeter does not store or transmit credit card information. By signing this document the buyer hereby acknowledges that the rules have been noted, and accepts responsibility for compliance. If such a decision is ever made, use of the card swipe must cease immediately.

Fax is acceptable, at (760) 345-6947.  A copy will be forwarded by us, to Centrodyne Corporation, the manufacturer of the equipment. Thank you for your cooperation in this important matter.
